Console Repairs Across the North East
Console Surgeon provides specialist Xbox repairs for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One/X and Xbox 360 consoles.
Based in South Shields, Console Surgeon provides specialist console repairs for customers throughout the North East, including South Shields, Newcastle, Sunderland, Gateshead, North Shields, Tynemouth, Jarrow, Hebburn, Washington and surrounding areas.
We repair common hardware faults such as damaged HDMI ports, no display, overheating and no-power issues, as well as more complex motherboard faults requiring board-level diagnostics.
Where appropriate, we carry out microsoldering, SMD component replacement, damaged pad repair and PCB trace reconstruction rather than simply replacing entire assemblies.
Whether your Xbox has suffered physical damage, stopped displaying an image, shuts down unexpectedly or will no longer power on, we can diagnose the fault and advise on the most suitable repair.
Common Xbox Repairs
Xbox HDMI Port Repair
Replacement of damaged or loose HDMI ports, with inspection of the surrounding board and circuitry for additional damage.
Xbox No Display
No picture does not always mean the HDMI port itself is faulty. We diagnose ports, traces, filters, ICs and associated board-level faults.
Xbox No Power
Diagnosis of consoles that are completely dead, power briefly and shut down, or fail to start correctly.
Xbox Overheating
Diagnosis of shutdowns, fan issues, excessive heat and cooling-related faults affecting Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.
Xbox Motherboard Repair
Board-level diagnostics and repair for faults that cannot be solved by simply replacing external parts.
Microsoldering & SMD Repair
Precision repair of damaged connectors, pads, components and surface-mounted parts on Xbox motherboards.
Trace & Pad Repair
Repair and reconstruction of damaged PCB traces and solder pads caused by impact, corrosion or previous repair attempts.
USB & Connector Repair
Repair or replacement of damaged USB ports and other physical connectors where possible.
Xbox HDMI Port Repair
HDMI port damage is a common fault on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.
Symptoms can include no signal, intermittent display, bent pins, a loose cable connection or a port that has been physically pushed into the console.
We remove the damaged connector using professional board-level equipment, prepare the motherboard correctly and install a replacement HDMI port.
We also inspect the surrounding circuitry rather than automatically assuming the port is the only fault.
If the HDMI connector appears intact, further diagnostics may be required to check traces, filters, ICs, pads and other components involved in the display circuit.
Signs your Xbox may need HDMI repair
- No signal on the TV or monitor
- Bent or damaged pins inside the HDMI socket
- Loose or unstable HDMI cable connection
- Display cuts in and out
- Port has been pushed into the console
- Console powers on normally but shows no image
Xbox Motherboard & Board-Level Repair
Some Xbox faults cannot be fixed by replacing a port, power supply or cooling component.
Console Surgeon carries out board-level diagnostics for more complex Xbox Series X and Series S faults.
This can include microsoldering, SMD component replacement, solder pad repair and PCB trace reconstruction.
Examples include:
- Damaged HDMI circuitry
- Missing or damaged solder pads
- Broken PCB traces
- Short circuits
- Power-related motherboard faults
- Damaged connectors
- Failed surface-mounted components
- Previous unsuccessful repair attempts
Each console is inspected and diagnosed so the underlying fault can be identified before more complex work is undertaken.
