Common Nintendo Repairs

USB-C Charging Port Repair

Damaged USB-C ports and charging connectors can cause intermittent charging, no charging or complete power failure.

Nintendo Switch No Power

Diagnosis of Switch-family consoles that are completely dead, fail to charge or won't start correctly.

Charging Faults

Diagnosis of charging circuitry, USB-C components and motherboard faults where replacing the connector alone won't solve the problem.

Screen & Display Faults

Diagnosis and repair of damaged screens, no-display faults and other display-related hardware issues.

Nintendo Motherboard Repair

Board-level diagnostics for Nintendo consoles with faults that cannot be solved by simply replacing modular components.

Microsoldering & SMD Repair

Precision component-level repairs for damaged connectors, pads and surface-mounted motherboard components.

Trace & Pad Repair

Reconstruction of damaged PCB traces and solder pads caused by physical damage, corrosion or previous repair attempts.

Connector & Physical Damage

Repair of damaged connectors and other hardware where suitable replacement components are available.

Nintendo Switch USB-C & Charging Port Repair

USB-C charging faults are among the more common hardware problems we diagnose on Nintendo Switch-family consoles.

A damaged charging port can result in intermittent charging, no charging, connection problems or a console that appears completely dead.

Physical damage to the USB-C connector is not always the only possible cause. Charging and power faults can also involve components elsewhere on the motherboard.

We therefore diagnose the fault rather than automatically replacing the charging port.

Where the USB-C connector itself is damaged, we can remove the faulty port using professional board-level equipment, prepare the motherboard and fit an appropriate replacement.

Signs Your Nintendo Switch May Have a Charging Fault

• Console doesn't charge
• Charging only works at certain cable angles
• USB-C port is visibly damaged
• Console won't power on
• Docking or display-out problems
• Loose charging connection
• Console stopped charging after physical damage

Nintendo Motherboard & Board-Level Repair

Not every Nintendo console fault can be solved by replacing a screen, battery or charging port.

Console Surgeon carries out advanced motherboard diagnostics and board-level repair on current and previous-generation Nintendo hardware where appropriate.

This can include microsoldering, SMD component replacement, damaged solder-pad repair and PCB trace reconstruction.

Board-level repair may be suitable for faults involving:

• Charging circuitry
• Damaged USB-C circuitry
• No-power conditions
• Short circuits
• Damaged connectors
• Broken PCB traces
• Missing or damaged solder pads
• Failed surface-mounted components
• Previous unsuccessful repair attempts

Each console is diagnosed individually before complex repair work is undertaken.

Why Choose Console Surgeon for Nintendo Repair?

Console Surgeon specialises in games console repair from our South Shields workshop, serving customers throughout North East England and farther afield through our postal repair service.

Specialist Repair Capability

We carry out USB-C replacement, microsoldering, SMD work, trace repair and motherboard-level diagnostics in-house.

Fast Turnaround

Many common console repairs can be completed quickly, depending on the fault, parts availability and current workload.

Proper Fault Diagnosis

A Nintendo Switch that won't charge or power on doesn't automatically need a new charging port. We diagnose the underlying fault before replacing components.

Board-Level Repairs

Our ability to carry out component-level motherboard repairs means consoles with more complex faults may still be repairable rather than requiring an entire replacement board.

Current & Previous Generations

We work on current Nintendo Switch-family hardware as well as previous-generation Nintendo systems where suitable parts and repair options remain available.

"Quality work for an amazing price 11/10. Contacted with repair details and got a response back within the hour. Mailed in my Ally X for a battery connector repair, which was quickly resolved. Unfortunately, the battery had gone into failsafe mode; however, this was no problem, and the battery was able to be repaired after a few attempts. Absolutely perfect service; could not recommend more!"

Honestly, if you ever need anything sorting game console/pc/tablet wise or whatever, give these a shout. Thanks again!"
