Postal Console Repairs Across the UK

Send your PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo console to Console Surgeon for specialist diagnostics, component-level and motherboard repair.

Specialist Console Repairs by Post

You don't need to live near our South Shields workshop to use Console Surgeon's specialist games console repair service.

Our UK postal repair service allows customers to send PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles directly to our workshop for diagnosis and repair.

Postal repairs are particularly useful for specialist faults requiring equipment and board-level repair capability that may not be available from a local repair shop.

We carry out repairs including HDMI port replacement, USB-C and charging port repair, no-power diagnosis, microsoldering, SMD component replacement, PCB trace reconstruction, damaged solder-pad repair and other suitable motherboard faults.

We also assess consoles that have already undergone unsuccessful repair attempts elsewhere.

Once your console arrives at our workshop, we can assess the reported fault and carry out the appropriate repair before arranging its return.

If you're unsure whether your console is suitable for postal repair, contact Console Surgeon before sending it and tell us the console model, symptoms and any previous repair history.

How Our Postal Console Repair Service Works

Sending your console to Console Surgeon for repair is straightforward.

1. Contact Us About the Fault

Tell us which console you have, the problem you're experiencing and whether anybody has previously attempted to repair it.

Where possible, include useful details about the symptoms so we know what to expect when the console arrives.

2. Package Your Console Securely

Use a strong cardboard box with suitable protective packaging around the console.

The console should not be able to move freely inside the parcel. Pay particular attention to protecting corners, ports and other areas that could be damaged during transport.

Unless we specifically ask for them, do not include unnecessary accessories, controllers, games or cables.

3. Send the Console to Our Workshop

Send the parcel to the postal repair address provided by Console Surgeon.

We recommend using an appropriate tracked delivery service and retaining your tracking information.

4. Diagnosis & Repair

Once the console arrives, we'll inspect it and diagnose the reported fault.

The repair required will depend on the results of that diagnosis rather than simply replacing parts based on the reported symptom.

5. Return Delivery

Once the agreed repair has been completed, your console can be securely packaged and returned to you.

Return arrangements and any applicable delivery charges can be confirmed as part of the repair process.

What Should I Send With My Console?

For many repairs, we only need the console itself.

Unless requested, you generally shouldn't need to send controllers, games, HDMI cables, power cables or other accessories.

Some faults may require additional equipment to reproduce the problem. If that's the case, we'll let you know what needs to be included.

Before sending your console:

• Remove any game discs where possible
• Remove unnecessary accessories
• Package the console securely
• Protect all sides and corners
• Use a strong outer box
• Make sure the console cannot move inside the parcel
• Follow any repair reference or identification instructions provided when arranging your repair

If you're unsure what to include, contact us before posting the console.

Specialist Board-Level Repairs by Post

Our postal service is particularly useful for customers who need advanced board-level console repair.

Some faults require considerably more than replacing a complete module or external component.

Console Surgeon carries out specialist motherboard work including:

• Microsoldering
• SMD component replacement
• PCB trace reconstruction
• Damaged solder-pad repair
• HDMI connector replacement
• USB-C connector replacement
• No-power diagnostics
• Short-circuit diagnosis
• Display-related motherboard repair
• Assessment of previous repair damage

Being able to send a console to our workshop means customers throughout the UK can access our specialist repair capability without travelling to South Shields.

Postal HDMI Port Repairs

Damaged HDMI ports and no-display faults are well suited to our postal repair service.

We repair suitable HDMI faults on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One-family systems.

A console showing no picture does not automatically require an HDMI port replacement.

Once received, we can inspect the connector and diagnose the HDMI signal path to determine whether the fault involves the physical port, damaged pads or traces, display-related components or another motherboard issue.

Where the HDMI connector is damaged, we can carry out precision board-level replacement and repair surrounding damage where practical.
